New York, New York It's a wonderful town

Okay so I should have added captions to these pictures before now but I have to do it at night when Mackenzie is sleeping and while Brian is not on the Computer doing home work. For those of you who don't know Brain and I went to New York to visit Brians' brother Don and his wife Kristie and thier son Luke. Also we were trying to decide if it might be a place we could live and work in. But enough of that I will provide some captions for the pics now.
This was my first real glimps of New York. Brian was at a conference and I was hanging out at Don and Kristee's. They have a nanny that comes in the mornings to look after Luke. She was taking him for a walk and I asked if I could tag along. I didn't dare go out by myself, pathetic I know. We walked to the east river which was only a couple of blocks away.
The next day Brain and I and Don went for a walk in the heart of the city. Here is a picture of the Wolworth building (I think).
In front of a fountian in City Hall Park
Ground Zero. It is hard to imagine that two building use to stand in this spot.
I didn't even know this Bull existed but according to Don and Brian it is a favorite tourist picture taking spot. We don't know who the people on the other side are.

Here is the Beautiful Chrysler Building. We went into the lobby which was really pretty. They have a large canvice mural on the ceiling in the lobby.

Brian infront of the UN building

Me infront of the UN Building. Also I belive we are onto a new day
This gun sulpture was infront of the public entrance to the UN. We had so much we wanted to do that we didn't take the tour. Maybe next time.

If I remember corectly this is the Rockerfeller Center. So is the picture below.

Here we are in Central Park. It was nice to get away from the buildings and see grass and water. We walked around for awhile and rested some. The picture below is of a turtle sunning itself on a rock.

We went into a toy store and they had one section dedicated to Harry Potter so I had Brain take a picture of me with Professor McGonagalls' hat.

So we wanted to go to the top of the empire state building. Had we known how long it would take to get to the top we might have tried to go on a different day or at a different time. Though it was cool to see the lights of New York city at night I had been hoping for dusk or sunset. However it was still a thrill to be up so high and look down on everything. We could even faintly see the statue of liberty all lit up. If any of you haven't gone and decide to go just know that an hour wait is short. We were in line for Three hours.

Okay, the Statue of Liberty is soo cool. It was really awe inspiring to watch her gettign bigger and closer as the boat pulled up to her. I can only imagine what imigrants thought as they finally made it to the land of the free.

I will try not to go over bord with the pictures but I took alot. If you look to the left of the light pole you can see Her in the back ground.

As much as I enjoyed the boat trip to Liberty Island I don't think that if I ever go again I would wait in the security line to go inside the statue unless I had alot more time so I could fully appreiciate the museum inside.

Ellis Island was also pretty neat. But we were running out of time and didn't get to explore the Immigration Museum very long. This is the hall where they all stood to register.

I know this Picture is random but it is the only dessert I splurged on. Its called a Mousse Mouse. It was wonderful. I love chocolate mousse and the mouse was full of it.

We went to see Disney's The Little Mermaid on broadway. I loved it. The cast was great. The costumes were amazing. I bought the soundtrack. It's my new favorite CD.

Here we are in Time Squre. I know how to get from here to the Theater we went to, the M&M's store and the Herseys store and a deli called Roxie's. I could also find my way to the subway and get to Don and Kristie's. Yes I am proud of myself for that. I did even ride the subway all by myself.

Last but not least is our cute nephew Luke. He was four months and on the verge of laughing. The picutes below Brian was trying to make him laugh. He did get a couple of Tee Hee's out of him. They actualy did sound like Tee Hee. It was soo adorable. It was hard to get him to be still though so some of the pictures are blurry.

Okay so one last random picture. We were at JFK airport waiting for our flight when we noticed birds flying around. They were comming in through holes in the ceiling. In this picture they had landed on a light and were warming themselves. They would turn around and fluff their feathers. I thought it was funny that they would come in and "sun" themselves when it was Eighty something degrees outside.

Well, I can't say that Spence didn't want his fair share of holding throughout the process. But at least all three of us had kids, so we were all taking breaks to hold them. It sure would've gone a lot faster without them, though! :)
