Larson Family Reunion 2009

The Larson Family Reunion was held in Ferron this year. It was great seeing family members that we only see every two years or so. There were several didffrent activities that went on. Here are just a few of the ones I captured pictures of.

One of the activities was to drive out to the old homestead of Great-Grandpa and Grandma Larson. Mackenzie had fun sitting on the old foundation and moving, carring and holding rocks.

Across a dry creek bed were the remains of the Dugout they lived in While they were building their two room house. Mackenzie wanted to over with everyone else so Brian "helped" her hike over. Also while my Uncle was telling us stories we were just looking over toward the dugout. Mackenzie walked away from us and was nearing the edge of the "cliff"(the drop was about ten-twelve feet). We were watching her and Brian was slowly moving toward her to make sure she would be safe.(If he had moved too fast it might have caused her to run) Anyway some concerned people grabed her nad then were looking around saying "Where are the parents. Letting her get so close to the edge like that. Dangerous." Brian Raised his hand and said "I'm right here." Cousin Candy(one of my dad's first cousins) said half joking half not,"Why don't you watch your child." To which Brian replied "I was watching her. Watching her walk right off the edge." I laughed. Really we were not going to let her get to close but when she wants to act big we have to be careful how we approach her. Stealth is usually needed.

Pictures of the group who decided to hike over to the dug-out. Apparently Candy figured Brian was alright since she is giving him and Eric a high five.

Mackenzie was apparently having a fun time being surrounded by nothing but dirt and sage brush. When we told her it was time to go she sat down on the ground so she wouldn't have to leave. Luckily we are still bigger and stronger then her and could put her in the car.

Several of the party went to the Rochester panel. I decided not to make the hike. Brian took Mackenzie and reported she was a good little hiker. She walked most of the way by herself. She even spotted a lizard, but it was gone before Brian could take a picture.

The Larson Family always has talent night. My mom wanted to sing with her grandkids. She endedup doing most of the singing.

This was what Mackenzie wanted to do most of the time. This and swing in the swings which I didn't get a picture of.

The last day as we were cleaning up some of the older kids climbed into this tree. Mackenzie wanted to go up to so Brian helped her climb and then climbed up himself to make sure she didn't fall out of it. They all had fun making monkey noises. Here are pictures of my monkeys.

We had a fun time and Mackenzie enjoyed playing with all the kids. She keeps asking when she can go back to Ferron.
